One-on-one lessons offer the fastest way to improve your game. A completely personalized approach allows you to set your own pace for improvement, and allows for a tailored balance between full swing and short game development. Or, want lots of attention, but don’t want to go it alone? Round up a friend or two and take lessons 2-on-1 or 3-on-1. Many people find this more fun, and it provides the motivation to keep pressing forward when the inevitable frustration threatens your progress.
Please note that all lessons and packages must be used by the end of each calendar year (i.e., lessons purchased in 2024 must be taken before the end of the 2024 season).
Golf is a game of strategy and on-course instruction is an opportunity to develop your strategic skills – understanding risk/reward, learning to hit the right shot in the right situation, controlling your emotions when your game temporarily slips away – all skills that can be developed with supervised play. Playing lessons also provide help in transferring skills from the driving range to the golf course. Please note at this time Playing Lessons are available on weekdays only.
Please note that all lessons and packages must be used by the end of each calendar year (i.e., lessons purchased in 2023 must be taken before the end of the 2023 season).
Playing Lessons Pricing (2 hours on-course)

Junior Golf Academy
Welcome to the Junior Golf Academy at Nehoiden Golf Club
At Nehoiden we are dedicated to Junior Golf and committed to bringing young players into the game. Our game-based curriculum is designed to encourage young kids to learn and develop skills using games and interactive exercises. We find that this approach allows kids to learn quickly and retain more – and might even inspire them to practice! Most of all though - we value FUN!
At Nehoiden, we believe in getting kids ON THE GOLF COURSE so they actually learn to play golf. We help kids develop individual skills (putting, chipping, etc.) in a game-based FUN environment; THEN we transfer the skills onto the golf course. Kids learn how to manage themselves on a tee box, order of play, etiquette and basic rules, how to maintain the pace, all while having fun (and maybe even keeping score). During our Spring and Fall Junior Golf Programs, we will get kids on course as space allows. During our weeklong Summer Program, kids are on the course playing actual golf holes almost every day.
The Junior Golf Academy is available throughout the peak season at Nehoiden Golf Club and taught by the experienced Nehoiden Golf Club staff and open to all juniors, boys and girls, starting at age 8 (as of 4/1/2024)
Our programs aim to:
- cover all aspects of the game including: etiquette, basic rules, putting, chipping, pitching and full swing.
- incorporate modules using golf to communicate valuable life skills: an understanding of sustainability, nutrition, physics of the swing, and bird/animal identification on the course.

What is the cancellation policy for the Junior Golf Programs?
Junior Golf Programs are in very high demand. In order to maintain fairness across the registration process, we have a strict cancellation policy: Cancellations more than 2 weeks in advance of a session start date will result in a 50% refund. Cancellations with less than two weeks of a session start date will result in no refund, regardless of whether the spot can be filled. If Nehoiden Junior Golf Academy cancels a program, a full refund will be issued. All instructional programming is held rain or shine; however, should a session be canceled as a result of severe weather and/or unsafe conditions, a weather alert email will be sent. There are no make-up dates or refunds for cancellations due to severe weather.
When and where do I drop off/pick up my child?
Most instructional programming, including summer programs, will have drop off and pick up in the parking lot on Washington Street just across from the Wellesley College campus. The closest GPS address is 3 Service Drive. All Junior Golf Programs begin on time so please be prompt.
Summer Only: Drop off is between 8:50 and 9am; pickup promptly at noon. There is no early drop-off or late stay.
Junior League practices will have drop off and pickup in the practice parking lot (3 Service Drive); weekly matches will start at the 1st tee (91 Dover Rd).
My child does not have clubs, balls, tees or other equipment. What should I do?
We STRONGLY RECOMMEND that kids have their own equipment, especially for Junior League, as they are playing 9 holes. We are an Official US Kids Golf site, and highly recommend their products (USKidsGolf.com). We are happy to discuss any questions you have about sizing or equipment for your child; email us at nehoidengolfacademy@gmail.com.
To properly equip your child, please provide:
- Driver
- 7-iron
- Putter
- Glove (right-handed players wear a glove on the left hand and vice versa)
- Sleeve of balls
For our seasonal instructional programs, we can provide equipment for students to borrow
If you have questions about what equipment to buy, please contact nehoidengolfacademy@gmail.com.
What should my child wear/bring?
- Close-toed shoes; sneakers are acceptable. No sandals, flip flops or loafers.
- A collared “golf style” shirt.
- Shorts, skort or pants; denim is not considered acceptable on a golf course.
- A hat or baseball cap.
- Sunscreen and bug spray are highly recommended.
- A full water bottle.
What do we do if it rains?
Golf is an outdoor sport that takes place rain or shine! In rare cases, we may need to cancel a practice or match due to severe weather and/or unsafe conditions; however, we try our hardest to meet since there are no make-up dates or refunds. In the event that we need to cancel, we will inform parents by email.

JAMES KEADY, USGTF INSTRUCTOR
James has been teaching at Nehoiden since 2019. He is a certified USGTF instructor who enjoys working with all ages and abilities. His calm demeanor and positive attitude allow you to relax on the range, so that you can develop your best swing. His lessons not only discuss the physical expectations of golf, but also address the mental pitfalls that often consume our games. James developed his passion for golf under the instruction of his father at the age of 14. At Needham High School, he captained his team to two undefeated seasons and was selected as a Bay State All-star. After college James worked at Ponkapoag Golf Course as a Junior Instructor and enjoyed teaching so much that he went on to get his Masters in Education. He has been teaching in Framingham, MA, since 2012 and is excited to be part of the Nehoiden staff. James is also a Certified PGA Junior League Coach. Golf remains James’ number one passion. He lights up at the thought of getting up early for a tee time, and has found that the game, while sometimes frustrating, can be a great outlet for stress management. Contact James at 781-330-3744 or james.c.keady@gmail.com.
